A Unique Partnership / Why Whiten At Spa Hollywood?

Sterling Dental (2900 Bee Ridge Rd., Sarasota) oversees the on-site whitening at Spa Hollywood. Whitening booths at malls, other salons, and non-dental offices are often operated by sales professionals with no dental training, "selling" you the whitening regardless of your teeth's condition. Our 15-minute whitening is performed by a licensed hygienist and supervised by a dentist, in order to provide you with the safest, completely legal whitening experience. We will ask you questions about sensitivity, oral hygiene practices, and past dental history. Your health and safety is our highest concern. If we have concerns about your candidacy, we will offer to examine you in our Bee Ridge office and/or to perform the whitening procedure in our office at no extra charge.

Information about RightSmile whitening products:

Why Whiten Your Teeth?

First Impressions
You never have a second chance to make a first impression, and your smile is the first thing that gets noticed when you meet someone. A bright, clean, engaging smile will allow you to make a memorable impression while boosting your confidence and self-esteem.

Eliminate Stains
Your smile can take a beating over time. While consistent, proper dental care is a key component of maintaining your smile, teeth will naturally yellow with age. A smile can also become stained over time from food, coffee, tea, cola, wine, and smoking.

Safe Technology
The technology behind teeth whitening has vastly improved over the past few years. Clinical tests have proven the effectiveness of teeth whitening as well as validated the safety of the procedure. It is no wonder that teeth whitening is the number one requested cosmetic procedure.

Affordable Convenience
Whitening your smile has never been easier or faster.

Right Technology
Two of the most effective teeth whitening techniques available today are in-office laser teeth whitening and at-home teeth whitening with custom-fit trays. RightSmile® products combine the best practices of both techniques to deliver the optimum smile. RightSmile®'s whitening process and gels were developed by a team of dentists and technicians in an ISO Certified Dental Laboratory. It is designed for safe rapid teeth whitening with long lasting results. Gels are all made in the USA.

Procedure:

Step 1 - Initial Treatment
First you will be asked to use a cleansing wipe to clear any loose debris from your teeth, then apply a special vitamin E moisturizer to your lips to keep them hydrated during the procedure. Finally the we will give you a comfortable, custom designed mouth tray that is pre-loaded with our specially formulated whitening gel, the RightGel, which you place in your mouth. The RightGel is then energized by our exclusive Photonic Acceleration LASER.

During the teeth whitening process, the active ingredients in the RightGel formulation reduces dental stains into water molecules and free oxygen radicals. The oxygen radicals combine with carbon-based molecules in the stained teeth and stains are dissipated without affecting the tooth enamel. Most stains become clear and teeth appear lighter and brighter.

After fifteen minutes, you simply remove the mouthpiece, rinse out any residual gel from your teeth, and admire your new smile.

This initial procedure is capable of brightening your smile by as much as two to five shades. If deep discoloration is noted or greater results are desired, an additional session may be requested.

*Pregnant and nursing mothers, children under the age of 16, and diabetics should consult their physician prior to undergoing any whitening procedure.

FAQs:

What results should I expect?
While results can vary from person to person, some of our clients’ smiles brighten by as much as 7 shades with only one 15 minute session. Typically, smiles are 2-5 shades brighter with one 15-minute session, 4-9 shades brighter with two 15-minute sessions, and 6-13 shades brighter with three 15-minute sessions. The grade of your teeth and your age can affect the process, but with the recommended treatment, 95% of all customers see a remarkable difference and are thrilled with the results.

Who can benefit from the RightSmile® system?
Almost everyone can enjoy the benefit of the laser whitening process if their teeth and gums are healthy. Please note, teeth can not be made whiter than genetically possible. Also, blemishes such as Tetracycline (found in antibiotics) stains are extremely difficult to remove and some stains can be impossible to remove; however, 95% of our clients experience noticeably whiter teeth.

What occurs during whitening?
During the teeth whitening process, the active ingredients in the RightSmile® formulation will reduces dental stains into water molecules and free oxygen radicals. The oxygen radicals combine with carbon-based molecules in the stained teeth and stains are dissipated. Most stains become clear and teeth appear lighter and brighter.

What causes tooth discoloration?
Typically, stains come from exposure to food, tea, coffee, smoking, juices, colas, wine, age, or just about anything that would stain a white tee shirt.

How long will it take until my teeth are whiter?
Whitening results usually become apparent during the first treatment. Typically, the whitening effect becomes even more evident after a second treatment. Teeth will continue to whiten, to a degree, with each successive treatment.

How long before I can eat or drink after my treatment?
During the first 24 hours after the treatment we recommend avoiding coffee, tea, dark colored sodas, red wines, berries, red sauces, or any foods that have the tendency to stain. Remember if it can stain a white shirt it can stain your teeth.

Are there any adverse side effects?
While rare, the two side effects most often noted are a temporary increase in tooth sensitivity and mild irritation of the soft tissues of the mouth, particularly the gums. Both of these conditions usually are temporary and disappear within several hours of stopping or completing treatment.

Will fillings and crowns be affected by the whitening?
While the RightSmile® process has no negative effect on the integrity of fillings and crowns, the simple fact is these materials will not whiten in any type of whitening procedure. Some clients who have had crowns in place for many years have reported that the whitening procedure returned their adjacent natural teeth to the color the crown originally matched.

Is whitening for everyone?
Pregnant and nursing mothers, children under the age of 16, and diabetics should consult their physician prior to undergoing any whitening procedure. Some teeth are naturally pigmented or stained as they originally develop. Consumers with severe tetracycline stained teeth may opt for a more aggressive cosmetic procedure like bonding and veneers.
